Catching up… +12

#3, 6, 8, 12, 16, 20, 31, 57, 61-ii, 78, 86, 90

Whew. I guess that’s what happens when you don’t update your list in a while. BUT:

#3 – I’m down to 164 (22 pounds gone!) — less than I weighed as a freshman in high school. :-) Now need to add some muscles. We shall see… The one big thing I keep looking at myself in the mirror, straight in the eyes, and repeating is: Please don’t have to do this again. Keep the weight off.

#6 – bought a new bed last September ‘08 — love it. Pillowtop beautyrest. mmmm. Need to rotate it though – will do that today.

#8 – Seeing Kyle in Berlin was amazing — even though I almost didn’t make it (passport left at home) and got there a day early (not so bright – and not the first time that’d happened.) What an excellent week, though. Where do I get to visit next, Kyle?

#12 – Turning 30 was phenomenal. First dinner with the MGs in the mission (”Grace and Dignity”) was truly perfect and exactly what I wanted. And then having everyone out to the Lookout on Saturday night was beyond wonderful. Having Richard there from NYC and my cousins from the East Bay – and every single person there was on the Most Important to Me List — loved it. Annnd since I got uber whammered the night BEFORE my Lookout party (”the exact opposite” – I blame Alapaki), I got to truly enjoy and not regret anything about Saturday night.

#16 – I remembered Max’s birthday! Of course his mother screwed up the birthday gift, deciding instead to be stubborn that I was not able to make the party – but I remembered and had a great gift ready to give. Definitely about to cross this one off – let’s go 2-for-2 and do it in ‘09.

#20 – I remember thinking “yay I accomplished this” but now I can’t remember what I actually got people — will keep thinking about it — won’t officially cross it off til I remember.

#31 – February ‘08! Sober Jeffrey! Woo hoo – lost 8 pounds from JUST stopping drinking. Hard to look a drink in the eye anymore, but I’m not being totally on the wagon — just mostly. Pre-approved drinking nights continue – just a lot fewer of them. Red Bull for a night is far preferable.

#57 – Took my shirt off in a bar (Peele Hotel, Melbourne — the Badlands of Oz) and didn’t hate every single second of it.  I doubt I’ll repeat it any time soon – but I did it. :-)

#61-ii – Jordy and I had dinner at Blue Restaurant a few months ago – was great.  We will be doing this again, I’m sure.  One of the best surprises about moving West is getting to know my California Cousins as adults — I love them so much!

#78 – Done – two years in a row: Philly Clean-Up with Dad and Hyperion Bank.  Hopefully this can be an annual event.

#86 – On my Jeff-is-so-stupid way out of the US on my way to Berlin, I got to catch up with Sarah (both a treat and a necessity – so that she could give me my passport). It was so fantastic to see her.  Could use another catch-up though… maybe we’ll do this one again.

#90 – Michael read my tarot cards as part of my 30th Birthday gift (albeit a month or two late) :-P  What a time of perspective and change the past year was for me — 2008 was such an incredible year.  And 2009 has definitely been full of change already, too.  Roller coaster, for sure.

So those are the 12 things I’ve done to catch up — I need to change a bunch of them (no longer need to know the Nestle OBIs; missed the dentist in 08 altogether; missed OscarFest’09 with Neil and Kim; sailing with Michael and Sarah is less probable now that they’re in VT and I’m in CA; I’m through with twitter – although I definitely adopted it for a while, so that one might be able to be crossed off; Oasis –> TBD some other band; missed reciting the Dec of Ind in ‘08 – maybe I can do it twice in ‘09 to prove)

#49 – Madonna! Great Seats! With Sean!

So, yes, we’ve GOT the tickets – and we didn’t have to do anything too scandalous to get them even (oh well.)

Sean woke up way way early on east coast time and got them – we have kick-ass seats.  Will post pics after the concert. But this officially gets it crossed off the list

#7 – California Here I Come!

I did it! I moved to SF… and here are the pics to prove it. I drove out to Chicago from NY in one day – stopped over in Chicago for three days of Dreyer’s meetings.  Then, Kevin met me in Chicago.  After a brief delay in getting started (ie – going EAST for an hour – Kevin and I agree to disagree about who’s to blame *cough* Kevin), we had a great trip making it from Chicago to SF in less than three days.

The very, very sad part is that Kevin and I spent many braincells coming up with a tagline to each photo (that we took on the hour every hour – thanks Nick!) No no – that’s not the sad part…  Here it is: I lost the notebook that contained the taglines -(

But make up your own – they’re still worth it.  And I couldn’t have done it without you, Kevin.

(Special thanks to Neil, Kim, Richard and Sean for helping me pack – I could DEFINITELY not have made it out of NY without you… thank you xoxo)

#10 – I’m with the band!

So not only did I get to visit my cousin Scott in Park City… not only did I get to ski at Deer Valley with him… not only was I there when he finalized the offer on his new house… but I got to be a groupie while he played guitar with the house band during Apres Ski! Way cool and it was a great performance!

#9(a) – Visit Paul in Miami…

Had a great time, even though my flight sat on the runway for two/+ hours on my way down – which is why I’ve chosen to memorialize this occasion with my ticket stub.

We had a blast – great cuban food, met some of his friends, got really really sunburned (which i LOVED!) and then hopped on the plane home after a quick weekend catching-up and having fun.

Definitely needs to happen again.

iWant –> iHave

I hit a melting point today with my POC phone and decided, “that’s it – I’m buying an iPhone.” I found out yesterday that it does sync with outlook, and I was pretty sure it’d either sync with my work server or I’d come up with an acceptable work around, and I had some money burning a hole in my pocket, sooo…

The biggest hurdle was reconciling my recent iPod Classic purchase. Buuuuut – I figured, with all of the long, long flights I take, I’ll be glad to have an mp3 player that has larger memory, but can use my iPhone at gym, and on the go daily. Good enough rationalization for me! WOO hoo!

Immediately, of course, I had buyer’s remorse. And it lasted all the way down the stairs of the Apple store. By then I was ecstatic about it.

The really cool part was setting up my entire account (joining at&t, grabbing my old phone number from verizon, figuring out what plan options I wanted, and configuring billing) all via iTunes in about 45 seconds. Wow.
So I did it! And this fulfills two of the things on my list — item #2 new phone, AND as you can see, a lovely new digital camera which totally meets my needs for the blog, item #1.

My First Item – #5 mailing Rob’s sweatshirt back…

I crossed off my first item today! Brian helped me get to the post office and then took the picture.

I should admit that I did put a return address, but only because I didn’t know Rob’s apartment number, so I didn’t want it to get banished in the world of undirected post.

ALSO – I’m making it official in print; Kevin, Eric, Meri and Brian – get your lists up there! I know you’re already started, so now it’s official – my public wants to see your lists.

It’s up!

I posted my list – it took a lot less time than I expected. At first I was very uninspired and just doing it to get Richard off of my case. But then I really got into it – ended up crossing off the first 25 or so and replacing them with things that mattered. I can’t wait to do this. I’m looking forward to every single one of my 101 Things.

But first I have to get a digital camera. Item #1.

Richard is Good at Guilt

I know I’m late to the party, but I’m here dammit. I’m in San Francisco right now and the upcoming transition will be great for 101 things to accomplish.

I’m going to take the rest of this week and finish my list…

Not being a very creative person, I need to read RR’s list and Whitney’s List and Mama R’s list and David’s list and see where they lead me. Plus i’ve got 10 hours on three different planes in the next few days, so I can take some time and make it worth it.

It’s not much, but it’s us
